We offer two types of tours for those wanting to organize a private tour for their own group of family, friends, colleagues, or paddling club.
The Kayak With Whales base camp tours offers a very comfortable camping experience and with Kingfisher’s knowledgeable kayak guides these tours are suitable for those with little or no kayaking or camping experience. Our island base camp has roomy canvas tents, each raised off the ground on wooden platforms, are situated throughout the forest with views of the ocean. We paddle the wildlife-rich waters of Johnstone Strait and Blackfish sound in search of humpback whales, orcas, sea lions, birds and pockets of wilderness. We can tailor the tour to suit children’s needs for those as young as six years old.
The Whales and Wildlife Explorer tour is for travellers with previous camping and ideally some kayaking experience – or at least a healthy dose of adventure. On these nomadic expedition tours we get dropped off by water taxi on an island in the Broughton Archipelago and paddle from campsite to campsite towards Telegraph Cove over the span of six days. We provide high quality three-season tents, all with Therm-a-rest sleeping pads and warm mummy-style sleeping bags with liners to ensure a good night’s sleep. We often see wildlife in the archipelago, such as black bears, harbour porpoises. As we kayak into Blackfish Sound and Johnstone Strait we keep our eyes peeled for the blows from orcas and humpback whales.
